πPrivacy
To find out what data Reto collects about you, your messages and servers, and how it's stored and handled, refer to the Reto Privacy Policy.
Personal
Commands that any user can make use of to control their privacy and personal data.
Toggle Discovery
Servers that are set to Public may share messages voted above a certain Global Karma threshold in commands like /discover global.
If you wish for your messages not to be shared publically in this manner, you can use /privacy personal discovery to toggle this functionality on or off.

Export your user data
You can request for a copy of the data stored on Reto's servers associated to your user ID by using /privacy personal export.

If you've sent this message on a server, the bot will redirect you to DMs so no one else but you has access to your own personal data.

You can open this .JSON file on any text or code editor to go through your data. Wherever possible, Reto will defer to internal Discord IDs to reference things like users, messages, channels and servers (guilds), so this information may not be of much interest to a human reader.
If you wish to self-host Reto on your own machine, you could use this internal data to import your messages and Karma totals into your own instance.

Delete your user data
If you wish to stop using Reto or want a fresh start, you can delete your data by using /privacy personal delete. This action is irreversible.

If you wish to stop using Reto, we recommend you remove the bot from any servers you are currently on. User data will continue to be logged as soon as a message you've made is reacted to with any Reactables in any given server.
Server
Commands that can be used to improve the privacy of your server, and the members within.
Toggle Discovery
If you are a moderator of the server Reto is in, you'll have been asked in your first /setup whether you would like to make your server Public or Private. If you've changed your mind, you can use /privacy server discovery to opt-in or opt-out.

Other
If you're coming from Reto Legacy: Two options that previously were included in The Privacy Update are currently not available.
Ephemeral storage (Privacy Storage): Reto now logs messages for as long as they're needed to operate its service, and no longer deletes them automatically after 30 days by default. This coincides with the use of message IDs over raw message storage.
Do not log my messages (Privacy Mode): Unavailable due to constraints on how Pinned Messages are handled.
If you depend on either of these features, we recommend you do not continue to use Reto until they're fully implemented. Thank you for understanding.
